Performing Arts

Performing artists are often naturally flexible or hyper mobile, which is of great benefit to them in achieving some of the amazing postures and feats involved in their art. However this level of flexibility places a lot of strain on their articulation and supporting ligaments, potentially leading to injuries.

This level of flexibility often needs to be treated differently, helping to support strength and reduce pain without creating further inflammation. And taking in to account that the patient is often between performances and may need to be back on stage very shortly after treatment.

Having worked with Te Whaea, the New Zealand National Dance and Drama Centre in Wellington ignited an interest in working with these elite athletes and the challenges they can present with. And we have had the pleasure of continuing to work with both local circus and international traveling dance companies in our clinic and theatres around Blagnac and Toulouse since.
