Cranial

Cranial osteopathy is a gentle osteopathic technique that involves gently stretching and manipulating soft tissues, muscles, ligaments, fasciae and joints to relieve areas of increased tension in the body.

Although called ‘cranial’ osteopathy (“cranial” means ‘relating to the skull’), this form of therapy can relieve pressure in all parts of the body. Your osteopath will likely work on the area that is directly causing your symptoms, but also on the head and often on the sacrum (tailbone).

Cranial osteopathy can be very effective in cases where the body seems to be holding on to trauma. Treatment can help the body relax, allowing injuries and tensions to soften and ease. In a fast-paced, non-stop world, it also promotes relaxation and helps the body unwind.
